Advanced Dental Technology at Our Cupertino & Los Gatos offices

Image of Dr. Massoomi with Yomi Robot at Bay Area Surgical Arts in CupertinoBay Area Surgical Arts has equipped both our Cupertino and Los Gatos offices with the same tools used by leading dental implant and oral surgery practices nationwide. This technology allows us to get better imaging, perform surgeries with perfect precision, and enable fast turnarounds on restorations without sending you across town or adding extra appointments to your treatment schedule.

YOMI Robotic Guidance System

Yomi is the only FDA-cleared robotic system built specifically for dental implant surgery. Dr. Massoomi is one of a small number of providers in the South Bay using it.

During implant placement, Yomi provides real-time haptic feedback that physically guides the handpiece to the pre-planned position. The result is a level of accuracy that freehand surgery can’t match, which matters most in complex cases like All-on-4 and full-arch dental implant restorations where a millimeter off changes everything. Patients also tend to have shorter procedures and easier recoveries.

CBCT Cone Beam 3D Imaging

Cone beam imaging gives Dr. Massoomi a full three-dimensional picture of your bone, teeth, and nerve anatomy before any procedure begins. For implant planning and wisdom tooth evaluations, that kind of clarity isn’t optional — it’s how you avoid surprises during surgery.

Both offices have their own CBCT unit, so you’re not waiting on a referral or traveling to an imaging center. Scans happen here, and planning happens the same day.

Digital Panoramic X-Ray by Vatech America

Our Vatech America PaX-i panoramic unit captures both arches, all teeth, the jaw joints, and surrounding bone in a single digital image. It’s usually the first step in any treatment workup, giving Dr. Massoomi a broad view before pulling in cone beam detail where needed.

Digital capture means lower radiation than older film systems, instant results, and images you can review together chairside at either location.

3Shape TRIOS 5 Wireless Intraoral Scanner

The TRIOS 5 replaces traditional impression trays with a wireless handheld scanner that captures a precise digital model of your teeth and bite in a few minutes. No putty, no gagging, no waiting a week for a lab to pour a cast.

Because the scanner feeds directly into our in-office 3D printing workflow, the digital model from your appointment can become a finished appliance or restoration the same day. That’s the gap this technology closes.

SprintRay In-Office 3D Printing

Most practices send appliances and restorations to an outside lab and ask you to wait. We print them here. Night guards, clear aligners, diagnostic models, temporary teeth, crowns — the SprintRay handles all of it, and most of the time we can have it ready the same day.

For patients in the middle of implant treatment or full-arch work, that speed matters. You stay comfortable, your case keeps moving, and there’s no back-and-forth with a lab if something needs adjusting.
